Russia lifts COVID entry restrictions for foreigners

Russia is to lift pandemic-related restrictions on foreigners entering the country by air and sea with effect from 14 June 2022, the COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre announced on 3 June.

According to reports, the government plans to amend Resolution No. 635-r of 16 March 2020 "On the Temporary Restriction of the Entry of Foreign Nationals and Stateless Persons into the Russian Federation and the Temporary Suspension of the Processing and Issue of Visas and Invitations" and Resolution No. 763-r of 27 March 2020 "On the Temporary Restriction of Traffic Across Road, Rail, Pedestrian, River and Mixed Checkpoints on the State Border of the Russian Federation and Across the Land Border between Russia and Belarus".

Russia will also lift entry restrictions for Uzbek nationals arriving by rail, likewise from 14 June 2022.
