03.07.2025
On 2 July, the Federation Council approved amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation aimed at increasing the penalties imposed on individuals for failing to inform their local military registration office of a change of home address.
Under the new rules, the following violations would incur an administrative fine of 10,000 to 20,000 rubles (compared with the previous fine of 1,000 to 5,000 rubles):
- failure to inform a military registration office of a move to a new place of residence that has not been confirmed by registration,
- failure to appear at a military registration office within the deadline established by federal law when moving to a new address that has not been confirmed by registration.
The amending law will enter into force from the date of its official publication.
